The latest Employee Home Makeover was awarded to Travis Plyler of Windsor’s Monroe, NC plant. Travis has excelled in the shipping department since 2017 and was chosen for this project due to his daily dedication to our customers.

In December 2020, Windsor expanded its prefinished interior program by adding eight new stains and a clear coat interior to our interior finish options.

The first employee home makeover of 2020 was awarded to Jose Marin Franco of Windsor’s West Des Moines plant.

The Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity has helped transition 180 hard-working qualified families in to homeownership over their 26 year history. Constructing new homes, rehabilitating existing structures, as well as coordinating neighborhood revitalization projects contributes to ending the cycle of poverty for many families in the Des Moines area.


In the past 25 years, Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity has moved 168 hard-working families into new homes they can call their own. In 2011 alone, Habitat provided services to 119 families living in the Central Iowa area. Constructing new homes, rehabilitating existing structures and coordinating neighborhood revitalization projects contributed to ending the poverty cycle for many families in the Des Moines area.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (Jan. 4, 2010) — A deserving St. Paul, Minn., daycare provider, her family, and the children she cares for have a sparkling view of their vibrant, multicultural neighborhood through new Windsor Windows after “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” revealed its latest project on Sunday’s national broadcast.


The foundation of Windsor’s business has formed around the essence of what Green is; only, it hasn’t always been referred to as “Green.” Windsor’s parent company, Woodgrain Millwork, has built environmental stewardship into its core values, and this focus has been passed on to Windsor. With a strong Lean culture, Windsor has strived for years to optimize the use of resources in production and recycling what scrap remains.


Since the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, it became increasingly clear that FEMA trailers do not provide suitable living conditions. While FEMA provides trailers at no charge following a natural disaster, the trailers offer little in terms of hope or comfort, and they are most certainly not a long-term solution. The temporary trailers are not intended to house people for longer than 18 months, due to the risk of fire.
